The Act requires the importer to provide basic declarations of raw material sources and tree species for each shipment of imported plant or forest products. Including the Latin name of the type of wood used, the country of harvest, the quantity, size, and value of the information, the violation may be punished not exceeding 500,000 U.S. dollars or not exceeding 5 years of imprisonment or confiscation of goods.
