On May 30th, the National Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was responsible for the national international scientific and technological cooperation project involving the University of Dayton, the Iron and Steel Research Institute and Ningbo Jinji Strong Magnetic Co., Ltd. The preparation and application of pole permanent magnetic rings" (No.: 2010DFB53770) The conclusion acceptance will be held in Ningbo City. The experts who participated in this acceptance meeting were Prof. Zhang Jiuxing from Beijing Polytechnic University, Prof. Li Jianguo from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Zhu Minggang from China Steel Research Technology Group Co., Ltd., Prof. Liu Xincai from Ningbo University, Prof. Shen Jun from Tongji University, and Zhou Dejing from Yinbang Metal Composite Materials Co., Ltd. Gao Gong, Gong Chaohui, Researcher, China Academy of Ordnance Science, Ningbo Branch. Gong Guowen, deputy director of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, and Yang Jianyu, director of the Foreign Science and Technology Cooperation Department attended the project acceptance meeting and delivered a speech on behalf of the Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. Researcher Chen Renjie and researcher Yan Aru of Ningbo Institute of Materials gave detailed reports on the project implementation and progress achieved on behalf of the project team and answered questions from the expert group. After reviewing the material, asking questions and fully discussing, the expert group considered that “the project, through cooperation with the University of Dayton, introduced, digested, and developed the hot-pressed rare earth permanent magnet nanocrystalline thermal deformation orientation technology and completed the research content of the contract. The requirements of various assessment indicators stipulated in the task book, and agreed that the project passed the acceptance. The project “Preparation and Application of Nanocrystalline Multipolar Permanent Magnetic Rings for Energy-Efficient Motors†was launched in January 2011 and ended in December 2013. With the strong support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, the project has achieved a series of achievements in basic research, applied research and application of magnetic rings during the implementation of the three years: the project not only clarified the grain orientation of the hot deformation process. Mechanisms, cracking mechanisms and rheological mechanisms of thermal deformation magnetic rings, and also overcome key technical problems such as mold design, process parameter control, and new magnetization methods, which reduce the inhomogeneity of the surface magnetic flux of the developed multi-pole magnetic ring to 5 Below %, and increase the material collection rate to more than 85%; the project team developed vacuum hot-press equipment and established a production line for hot-pressed magnet production. In the application of magnetic rings, the project team has developed a variety of different specifications of the thermal deformation of the magnetic ring, provided to the Tsinghua University, Ningbo Institute of Technology, Chinese Academy of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and other units to use, to meet the requirements of users. Under the funding of the project, the project team has published 18 academic papers, of which 13 were accepted by SCI and 11 national invention patents were applied. 100% of the relevant intellectual property rights belong to the Chinese side.
