World carbon fiber demand will increase by 13% annually

The report of Huachuang Securities pointed out that the demand for carbon fiber in the world will increase at an annual rate of about 13%, and the prospects are promising. It is predicted that the global demand for PAN-based carbon fiber will exceed 75,000 tons by 2014, and will reach 110,000 tons by 2018. Industry sources also pointed out that the huge demand for carbon fiber by Boeing and Airbus in recent years has led to a rapid increase in prices.

At present, the construction of domestic carbon fiber production lines is also extremely lively. In 2010, the demand for carbon fiber in China reached about 10,000 tons. At present, there are 23 domestic carbon fiber manufacturers, with a total capacity of 4,000 tons/year and scales below 10,000 tons. Market has great potential. According to incomplete statistics, the carbon fiber projects under construction or planned to be constructed at a relatively large scale include Sinosteel GCC, Jiangcheng carbon fiber, Bluestar carbon fiber, and Zhongyou Jilin carbon fiber. Local governments such as Jilin are also encouraging enterprises to step up the development of the carbon fiber industry.
