Director of the National Energy Administration: Stabilizing coal prices to provide a good supply of coal

Liu Tienan, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Energy Administration, pointed out recently that coal companies must strive to increase effective supply, fulfill key coal contracts, take the initiative to shoulder social responsibilities, stabilize coal prices, and provide coal supply.

Liu Tienan emphasized that in order to resolve the current contradiction between coal and electricity, the Shanxi Datong Coal Mine Group must pay attention to four principles: First, it should adhere to structural adjustment and reasonable control of the total amount of energy consumption; Second, it should persist in perfecting institutional mechanisms and deepening reforms. The third is to adhere to scientific and technological innovation, and to strengthen the combination of internal potential exploration and necessary supportive policies and measures; the fourth is to adhere to the combination of far and near, to treat both the root causes and the symptoms.

He said that Shanxi Province is actively exploring effective measures to rationalize the relationship between coal and electricity. It will try first in the province and hopes that Shanxi Province will actively change its development mode, adjust its industrial structure, and achieve stable and rapid economic and social development.
