Huarui Launches Steel SentryRAE


SAN JOSE, Calif., July 24, 2007—Huarui Scientific Instruments Inc. (AMEX: RAE), one of the world’s premier manufacturers of rapid deployment sensor network development for industrial and homeland security, today introduced a 5 Sensor Compound Gas Detector in Extremely Hazardous Environment - SentryRAE (SentryRAE Steel). This product is designed for safety protection in hazardous environments such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants, plastic processing plants, and offshore platforms.

Thomas Negre, product manager of Huarui Instruments, said: “The steel SentryRAE gas detector is a new type of industrial safety protection product for people working in hazardous environments. Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries or common alkaline batteries can provide users with more than 36 hours of security, even if the number of shifts in a position on the instrument can fully meet the needs.

The instrument is designed to meet the environmental requirements for intrinsic safety (no explosion) of Class I, Division 1 groups A, B, C, D in industrial production. This requirement also means that it will not ignite the mixed flammable gas or liquid under normal operating conditions. Groups A, B, C, D refer to possible acetylene (A), hydrogen (B), ethylene (C) propane (D).

The new steel SentryRAE incorporates a standard photoionization detector (PID) for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs); an oxygen concentration sensor, which often causes explosions due to high oxygen concentrations; a low limit explosive gas sensor; and two A changeable sensor slot that can be configured with a variety of sensors, including: ammonia (NH3), carbon monoxide (CO), chlorine (Cl), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen fluoride (HF), hydrogen sulfide ( H2S), NO, NO2, phosphine (PH3) and SO2.

The main features of this product include:

• Intrinsically Safe Certification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Class A, Division 1

• Stainless steel housing is durable and easy to clean

• 20,000 record data can be continuously recorded for 64 hours with 5 sensors all turned on and recording interval is one minute

• Record data can be analyzed & stored by computer

• The optional instrument holder can prevent the instrument from being eroded by water or chemicals on the ground. It can also lift the instrument handle to the hip height to facilitate the transport of the instrument.

• High-brightness LED alarm lights, large display screens, and high-decibel sound alarms deliver alarm information over a wide range, covering far more than traditional portable detectors

• Built with more than 60 correction factors, the instrument can detect more chemicals than any other PID instrument

• Built-in sturdy sample pump to collect gas samples horizontally or vertically within 30 meters. The instrument is equipped with an external filter and a low-flow automatic alarm system to ensure its normal operation

• Large button design, even in the case of users with three layers of gloves will not affect the operation

• Large display screen with backlight for easy reading
